About our VPS plans compared to others

Our VPS plans are geared towards the needs of hosting Drupal. This is what differentiates our product from legacy VPS providers. These servers are self managed - we give you a VPS and root access and you do everything including backups. Just like a traditional VPS you will need to know some basic UNIX to get everything working. If you're looking for a more supported solution with less flexibility check out our shared plans!

Current operating systems are: CentOS 6, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and 13.04, Debian 7

What is different about our servers that makes them better suited for Drupal?

Memory

Drupal designers told us they wanted memory over raw bandwidth. Give us more memory for our memcache processes, varnish, SQL caching, and APC/opcode caches. If we need bandwidth that is better served by a content delivery network. Instead of charging you for bandwidth you never use we give you RAM for the things you need.

Super fast SSD disk space

Drupal needs fast, local disks for quick hits to the database and file based caching. Developers told us they wanted fast local drives over large quantities of network storage. Any site which delivers large quantities of multimedia and other large files should offload that to a CDN. So we put small ultra fast local SSD drives in each server to do what you need.
